Meet the New Leaders

Florence Tan is a powerhouse in fundraising and partnership strategy, with nearly 20 years of experience in the philanthropic space. Before joining OceanX, she was Deputy Director at Singapore Management University, where she worked with major donors, foundations, and government partners to raise millions in support of education and research.

“What excites me about OceanX is how it fuses science, education, and media into one dynamic platform,” said Tan. “There’s real potential here to spark regional collaboration around ocean protection.”

She’s also held senior roles at the Kidney Dialysis Foundation and the Singapore Children’s Society, and holds an MBA from the University of Bradford and a BBA from NUS.

Lynette Long is no stranger to turning big ideas into immersive experiences. With more than 20 years of experience in creative production and public engagement, she’s led blockbuster exhibitions like Jurassic World: The Exhibition and Avatar: The Experience during her time as General Manager and Executive Producer at NEON Global. She’s worked with entertainment giants like Disney, Marvel, and Universal.

“People care more when they feel connected. That’s the magic OceanX brings—real stories, real science, and real impact,” said Long.

She’s also held senior comms roles at the Supreme Court of Singapore, NUS Faculty of Law, and The Esplanade, and holds degrees in Marketing and Economics from NUS.

With Tan and Long on board, OceanX is setting its sights on expanding its footprint across Asia—connecting with new partners, creating unforgettable ocean education experiences, and building stronger awareness of marine conservation issues through immersive storytelling and cross-sector collaboration.
